Knight Pointing Right

Welcome to
Mulcahy Draft Horses

We are located in the high desert mountains of north east CA, 85 miles from Reno, NV.

A small, family operated facility, we have registered Friesians and Belgians.  We strive for quiet dispositions and wonderful conformation.  We are also developing horses that are easygoing, whether riding on the trail or pulling a wagon down the road.

We are currently developing a breeding program for Friesians and Belgians.  We would love to talk to you about your interest in acquiring one of our future foals.

Star in the round pen looking at her new friends.

When we went to Durham on May 8, 2004 to pick Star up from her Breeder/Trainer Bruce Book she was measured.  At 2 years old (birthdate: 1/4/2002) Star is now just over 17.1 hands!
She comes from a line of very tall horses.  We think she will be pretty close to 18 hands when she is done.  She is still at the gangly stage, and she is all legs.

Star is now 18 hands!  She has grown more than we had expected or hoped for during the winter.  She is only 3 years old and still has a long time to grow...We can't wait to find out what height she ends up at!

Indigo and Jake
Indigo is our Friesian filly.  She is 18 months old in this picture taken Jan. 24, 2004.  She  received 2nd premie in Sept. 2003.  This was after her first trailer ride by herself, a 10 hour trip ending just a couple of hours before her judging.  The big guy behind her is 17-3H Belgian, Jake.

Indigo's dam Lugana, is 16-1 hands and her sire Tjerk is 16 hands.  We expect she will be no less than 16 hands when she is finished growing.
Update Nov. 4, 2006Indigo was measured today, she is just slightly taller than 16 hands.
